Nosara By THe Sea

initially  consumed by wanderlust, we first travelled to Costa Rica in 1992 and felt  an instant connection. Now, after 30 years exploring, enjoying and experiencing CR as tourists, we have decided to make Nosara our second family home. Building a custom home in a foreign country is not for the faint of heart. It is a leap of faith on many different levels but we are heart and soul all in on this project. With the guidance of our visionary architect we are creating a space that will give us - and our family and friends -  time to unplug from the outside world, recalibrate and reconnect with each other and our inner selves. Building our home is proof that dreams do come true… that hard work, sacrifice and delayed gratification bring rewards. We want to share our construction journey for many reasons: it is an extremely happy time for us and happiness creates positive energy and more positive energy needs to be out in the universe. We hope that anyone considering a similar journey will find inspiration and learn from our successes and (equally as valuable) our failures. When we are long gone (maybe sooner) and our children and grandchildren are enjoying the home, we hope that these chronicles will remain  a testament to how much we love Costa Rica, Nosara and each other and a reminder of how this project is as much  for them as it has been for us.
